I Keep Coming Back to Agario, and I Finally Understand Why

At some point, I stopped asking myself why I was opening agario again and started asking a more honest question: what am I actually getting out of this? Because let’s be real — I’m not climbing esports ladders, I’m not setting records, and I’m definitely not impressing anyone. I’m just a casual gamer, clicking “Play,” becoming a tiny circle, and emotionally attaching myself to pixels.

And yet… here I am. Again. Writing another blog post about it. That alone should tell you something.

The Ritual of Starting a New Match

There’s something oddly ritualistic about starting a round of agario. You spawn small, vulnerable, and anonymous. No history. No reputation. No expectations.

For a few seconds, nothing bad has happened yet — and that feels nice.

I always take a moment at the start to just float. Look around. Get a sense of the map. It’s like stepping into a busy city where everyone has their own agenda, and you’re just trying not to get run over.

That quiet beginning never lasts long, but I’ve learned to appreciate it.
